Organoleptic evaluation refers to the analysis of drugs through organs of the senses. It includes the analysis methods such as colour, smell, taste, size and shape. The first sight of a plant or extract is often so distinctive that it can identify itself. Perhaps the plant or extract is characterized by a distinctive smell or taste. Organoleptic analysis is the most basic, but also the most human type of analysis. Talka gum is used to replace acacia gum. It can be identified by its form and colour. Talka gum can be broken, and some tears may be brown or other colourless. Acacia gum is yellow to white in colour. Mangosteen fruit can be substituted for bael and are identified by a darker rind and wedge-shaped radiates stigmas.
